REAL TECHNIQUES MIRACLE COMPLEXION SPONGE

So after being very reluctant to fork out for a beauty blender, I decided to purchase the real techniques miracle complexion sponge.
At first I really didn't like it, but that's because I was completely using it wrong. I used it dry😔  So, after watching a few YouTube tutorials on it I tried it wet, first of all just using water. And I really, really, liked it! It honestly applies foundation so flawlessly just by bouncing it along your skin! Normally when I use a brush I go out and realise a bit hasn't been blended as good as I had hoped probably from rushing because I'm late! But with this you hardly have to blend or do anything! Then last week I tried dampening it with my fix+ and it was amazing. As fix+ is a finishing spray it makes your foundation last all day! And applying foundation like this is effortless, which is great as I'm always late! It's sort of egg sized and shaped with a flat bottom and pointed top so you can get into all of the nooks and crannies of your face! Overall I love this sponge and won't be forking out for a beauty blender as I feel it works perfect for what I want! And for £5.99 you can't go wrong! So if you're in need of a new foundation brush, look no further!
Sincerely, Hollie x

VELVET TEDDY REVIEW...

Hi Internet, it's been a long time... I'm a crappy blogger I know! I don't even have an excuse, I have nothing to blame. But I'm back!
I am obsessed with Mac lipsticks and have only just started building my collection. My first lipstick was Velvet Teddy which I got for Christmas from my parents. It's so perfect. It's the perfect brown toned nude matte.
Kylie Jenner's rumoured lip colour too... Honestly out of my collection so far it's my favourite. It stays on literally for hours even when you eat and drink! It's just...amazing!
Honestly I've recommended it to soooo many people! It's a universal colour and will suit any skin tone. For me, this product is 10/10! Everyone go buy it right now! And for £15.50 the price isn't bad for what you're paying for!

THE NETFLIX TAG...

Hi internet! So today scrolling twitter, catching up with blog posts and reading new ones, I discovered The Netflix Tag! I saw it on Gemstones blog, I've only recently started following her but here is her blog link, you guys should check out her posts! So here is my Netflix tag! Enjoy!

What are your favourite series' to watch on Netflix?

I only recently have started to use netflix, therefore not seen many series' yet. But I would definetly recommend Orange Is The New Black and American Horror Story! They're both great! I can't wait for the next series of OITNB to arrive!

What are you currently watching on Netflix?

Currently I'm on series 3 of AHS! I love it! I didn't enjoy asylum at all but I loved murder house and so far I'm loving coven too! So I'm excited to carry on watching it! P.S Evan Peters makes it even better.

If you could have any series put on Netflix, old or new, what would it be?

Awkward! It's literally my favourite series in the entire world! Please please please Netflix, put it on!!!

What is your one peeve about Netflix?

That you have to pay! I'm a cheapskate student with little money, what can I say.

What are your essentials for a perfect night in with Netflix?

Pizza, snacks, warm blanket, onesie, fluffy socks and cuddling with my dogs.

Recommend one series or film for someone else?

Series > would have to be AHS or OITNB because they're both fantastic!
Film > I haven't seen a good film in agessssss but I'd recommend The Hunger Games because they're easy to watch.

What should I watch next on Netflix? Comment below or tweet me @sincerelyhblog and tell me what I should watch!

Sincerely, Hollie x

10 FACTS ABOUT ME...

Hi Internet, seeing as I'm new to the blog scene I thought it would be good to introduce myself properly and tell you 10 facts about me! If I can think of 10...

One...
I recently passed my driving test with 2 minors!! Woooo! I cried and grabbed my examiners arm, probably thought I was a psycho and it was best to pass me rather than see me again. Sadly now all of the money I earn goes on insurance and petrol... I'm getting old *cry*.

Two...
I found out today that Berlin is in Germany... Not Ireland. I failed geography 3 times at GCSE don't judge me. But I did only find out on educating Joey Essex, which shows a lot.

Three...
In 2013 I won an award for most caring young person and was lucky enough to meet Prince Harry! He's so fit!

Four...
I use to swim competitively when I was 10 but gave it up when my friend, who I swam with, got put into a higher class and I didn't. I'm aware how bratty that is.

Five...
Let's pretend I'm not struggling already...
I crashed my car 4 days, yes 4 days, after my driving test by reversing into a wall. Brilliant. Nice one Hollie. I then had to pay for like £300 of damage done. Fabulous x

Six...
I'm still obsessed with 5 seconds of summer. Just when I think I've come out of the pre-teen band phase, turns out I haven't. I've seen them live 7 times and met them 2 times. I did stalk them to their hotel but let's not mention that...

Seven...
My bestfriends now are people I didn't even know at senior school. And I'm happier than I've been in ages. So if anyone is stressing about friends in senior school, college will show you who your real friends are. I now have the best friends in the world and a boyfriend. How did that happen?

Eight...
So I work at McDonald's. Which I find extremely embarrassing. And the strange thing is, I don't actually mind it. I mean the pays not great and I hate the actual job, but the people are great! I've met amazing people through working there! McCrew!

Nine...
I'm from Essex and I met Charlie from The Only Way Is Essex in morrisons. I cried and was shaking like a lunatic. It's probably the most embarrassing thing I've ever done. And there's a lot of embarrassing things.

Ten...
I can't drink the bottom of drinks. It's weird, I know. Even if I'm not sharing a drink and I've bought it fresh, I cannot drink the bottom bit. I'm terrified of drinking back wash! Even if it is my own.

So I hope you all feel like you know a bit more about me and how weird I am. Tell me something about yourself in the comments or tweet me @sincerelyhblog until next time Internet

Sincerely, Hollie x

MY MAKEUP BAG FAVOURITES

Hi Internet, today I'm going to share a few of my favourites from my makeup bag, so let's get started! Some of them are high street and some are more designer! Enjoy!

Primer
I've only recently started to use primer so I have only tried a sample of the clinique super primer. It makes my makeup stay on all day and makes it easier to blend, so for the only primer I have tried, I'd say its pretty good! If I can afford it on my crappy mcdonalds wages I will definitely purchase the full size!
Buy it here- £20

Foundation
For everyday use I mix together my revlon colorstay and Rimmel wake me up foundation. The mix of these two colours is perfect for my skin tone. I use the shade true Ivory in the wake me up foundation which is too dark for me, poor pale me and I use 110 Ivory in colorstay. I just dab them both onto my skin and blend them in with my real technics brushes, I don't particularly agave a favourite brush to do this with but I find the real technics brushes really soft and they blend my foundation in really well.
You can buy these here- Colorstay is £12.49
Wake me up is £8.99

For when I'm going out out I use my bobbi brown long-wear even finish foundation in the shade sand 2, this is a medium coverage foundation and is perfect for my skin tone. It looks really natural on your skin and you can either powder it or leave it on its own as it does have a matte finish. And as a bonus it has SPF 15!
You can buy this here - £31

Concealer
I've yet to find a concealer I love, but I normally use the collection lasting perfection concealers or I use my colourstay foundation. Can you recommend me any good concealers? High street or designer?

Blush
Oh my god, I have just bought the most beautiful blush ever! It's Mac desert rose. And honestly it's the best purchase I have ever made. I'm in love with it. It gives a warm subtle glow to your cheeks and really makes them pop. I can see this working on any skin tone and can be worn day or night! Really really nice product! And I've only used it twice!
Grab it now! - £18

Bronzer
Internet I need your help!! I don't own a good bronzer, even a decent bronzer! And I'm crap at contouring, sos! Tweet me or comment what bronzers you love and any tips you have for contouring!

Eyeshadow and eye primer
My favourite eye primer by far is my Mac soft orchre paint pot! It's amazing, it lasts all day and makes your eyeshadow colours pop! It's a neutral colour so it blocks out all the veins on your eyelids. Honestly a saviour of a product! You all need it in your makeup bags!
Buy it here- £15.50
I recently only just bought cork from Mac too, but I can already tell that it's an absolute must have! All Mac eyeshadows blend perfectly and ugh! They're just amazing! Well played Mac, well played. I normally use it as a crease colour when I'm going for a subtle neutral look. I usually just use my paint pot and cork on a day to day basis. When I don't wake up late...
Buy it here- £13

Eyebrows
Oh dear, here comes the thing I struggle with the most. The dreaded eyebrows! I use my benefit brow zing pallet to fill them in, in the shade light and then go over them with my maybelline brow drama gel which helps them stay in place all day. I'm rubbish at doing eyebrows so might can either look 'on fleek' or slugs, there is no inbetween. I usually end up with one nice and one slug. Perfect.
Buy brow zing here- £24.50
Buy brow drama here- £4.99

Eyeliner
Again I haven't found an eyeliner that I'm in love with. I use my maybelline eye studio lasting drama gel liner but I find this difficult to use. Saturday night I used a felt tip eyeliner to draw the shape and then go over it in the gel, which I found easier but I'm still not in love with it. Although it does stay on all day long and doesn't budge! So that aspect of it is good!
Buy the gel liner here- £7.99

Mascara
Because I'm a poor Mcdonalds crew member I can't always afford to buy my favourite products as well as pay for my petrol, so I have tried to find drugstore versions of ones I like. My favourite mascara by far is the theyre real by benefit. Honestly this is amazing! I wish I had a little wand that could give it to everyone! But since I used all of that up I mix between the falsies and the rocket. And I love them both! The rocket is really great for bottom lashes! It has good separation. The falsies has amazing drama and makes my lashes seem so thick and full! I love it.
Buy theyre real here- £19.50
Buy the rocket here- £7.99
Buy the falsies here- £7.99

Lips
Oh where to begin? I've only started to dabble in lipsticks since September last year. So I don't own many. But my favourite has to be velvet teddy by mac, its a beautiful nude matte and it stays on for a long long time without lipliner. I only got this for christmas and don't wear lipsticks unless I'm going out, but so far so good!
Buy it here- £15.50
Ps its rumoured this is a shade that Kylie Jenner wears...

So that went on a lot longer than I expected it to, guess I just couldn't narrow it down... If you got this far you might as well follow me on twitter @sincerelyhblog smooth huh?
Anyway comment or tweet me some of you makeup favourites you think I should try out! Bye internet

Sincerely, Hollie x

Here goes nothing...

Hi internet,
I've always been quite reserved around people I don't know and there are more than 2 billion people online. 2 billion people I don't know reading this (well realistically it'll probably just be me reading it, maybe my mum, might show my dog.) So starting a blog seems like a grand idea doesn't it. (note the sarcasm)
The internet has always been a strange thing for me, I'm slightly obsessed with it- just like the rest of our teen culture- but so aware of how easily things can go wrong on it. You don't know who you're talking to. Which is a scary thought, but also appeals to so many of us. You can be who you are, without the fear of being judged (by people you see daily anyway). You can find friends, love, fame, fortune all on this one place. It's amazing. But you can also find paedophiles, shame and debt.
You're probably wondering who I even am, I'm Hollie, 18 and in college. Exciting stuff. No, more like shitting-myself-for-the-future-because-I-don't-know-what-I-want-to-do stuff. Oh and also, I failed most of my AS levels last year so this year is kind of a big deal for the rest of my life. Nothing too serious... But anyway I'm just trying to get through it with decent grades, enough to get me a job. And if you've read my about me and hate me for not liking bacon, I know its weird. I am aware.
So what is my blog going to be about? Anything and everything. Bit of this, bit of that. Nothing too set in stone. And thats the problem I had creating my blog name. I wanted something general so I could talk about anything without my blog being confined. And here marks the beginning 8/2/15.

Twitter- @sincerelyhblog
(Not the name I wanted but it's 2015 and everything else was taken)
